Towards the end of 2019 we took the decision to branch out into gin production with the view of offering gins that were as unique as our beers.
Our still (Sasha) was delivered in March 2020 and production commenced in May, with the aptly named East Coast Dry Gin. Additional small batch, limited edition spirits will follow as time progresses.
Gin, vodka and rum too!
As we developed our skills in gin making we branched out into making “fruity” gins without any sugar content, concentrating on the natural sweetness of the local fruit, our Raspberry & Vanilla and our Rhubarb & Ginger being particular favourites.
Being a coastal town the call to make rum was heard loud and clear, our award winning dark rum compliments our light rum, both made from Caribbean Cane Spirit. Lastly, our botanical vodka is a testament to craft distilling!
“The Spirit of Poppyland”
Our small batch still, known as “Sasha”, is perfect for either one off gins, or reproducing the same gin time and time again. The still is in our brewery and stands proudly against the backdrop of the original garage office area.
We have embarked on producing unique gins.
With a maximum capacity of 100 litres and a minimum of just a few litres, our flexible approach ensures we can produce any quantity we want to.
Botanicals are hand picked, recipes researched and tested before commercial production commences.
The larger bottles are hand finished with a wax cap. Batch and bottle numbers are specified on the label.
Poppyland Vodka
Using the best neutral grain spirit as our base, our botanical vodka has a unique flavour, either drank with a mixer or as a base for a cocktail. Our vodka is a must for your drinks cupboard! Our vodka is 40% ABV
Poppyland Rum
Being based in Cromer, a coastal town proud of its sea heritage and famous lifeboat heroes, it seemed a natural progression to produce rum. Our Caribbean Cane Spirit is especially imported from the West Indies to give a defined taste to the rum. It is distilled with a balance of herbs and spices and then barrel aged for your enjoyment. Our rums are 40% ABV
